Teaching-wise today was Larry Conyers’ GPR day. Larry was his usual very entertaining self, as well as hugely interesting and informative on GPR about which he is, of course, one of the world’s experts. As part of his presentation, he showed some of the results of his surveys so far. Some quite amazing images.
Meanwhile, Kris and Jarrod were out collecting mag data, and Rinita and Evangeline Dalan, ably assisted by David Wilbourn, were collecting magnetic susceptibility data. After lunch they were joined by the rest of the group. A grid of relatively high resistance data was collected over the curious rectangular feature, as well as a grid of mag sus data. Ralph Potter collected the same grid of GPR data while Larry redid his first area at higher resolution and looked at the churchyard.
Obviously, we are still processing the data and working out what it all means. The mag is, however, clearly picking up architecture nicely despite interference from cricket nets and football posts.
Last day of the course tomorrow.
